A Pinoy Expatriate’s Insane Musings

Aside from the “About” text box you see on this page, what else would you like to know about me? Hmmm…Let me think. Okay, I’ve added some more bits about myself and this blog:

I’m a 34-year old true-blue Pinoy expatriate working for a global energy company. My assignment is tentatively set at 2-3 years. I will be based in the East Bay area of California together with my loving wife. I’ve logged approximately 350,000+ air miles over the last two years but this is the first time I’m being assigned as a full-time expat. This blog is my way of documenting this new phase of my life.

I’ve been married (happily I might add…sorry ladies) for two years now. Due to my frequent bussiness trips, my wife feels like being married for only 6 months or so.

Except for my primary school years, I’ve been educated via the public school system of the Philippines. I studied at the Philippine Science High School (back when it was still the only PSHS campus in the country). To us, it’s simply “Pisay” although older batches call it “Science”. After graduating from high school, I pursued my chemical engineering degree at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.

I joined a global energy company in 1994, was assigned in various departments, transferred to various positions almost every 6 months, joined regional project teams and so on and so forth…Now, I’m in the U.S. working for the same energy company. Eleven years…Darn…Feels like it’s been twenty years…
